For this I researched business ethics by looking at 3 recent examples of things people found ethical and those they found unethical

Business ethics are evolving even more now than before due to the rise of the internet and social media. Technology creates grey areas that haven't been legislated or understood yet. Facebook is a great example of this. Mark Zuckerberg is currently testifying before congress about the way data of users is sold to advertisers. The public is furious, but there isn't any legislation about this yet because it is new. Business are also making members of the public happy. Take the recent benefits cut to the NRA from many businesses across the country and world. The impact of social media also affects these decisions, as consumers can tell companies what they want them to do ethically. The internet has also provided a platform for victims of unethical practices. Look at the situation with Bill O'Reilly. His sexual harassment and abuse had been going on for years, but once the internet found out about it, they used its power to put pressure on companies that advertised along side his show to be what they considered ethical and stop running the ads. The loss of funding and support from these ads as well as public pressure resulted in the ouster of Bill O'Reilly.
