I meet again with my neighbor to discuss steps 1-3.

Step 1 is to find out how to perform triage and for my step I had to make a checklist.

The basics that make the checklist are

Can they walk? - Send them away from the site

Are their injuries minor? - Send them away

Are their injuries likely to kill them with or without care? - Leave them for now

Are their injuries likely to kill them without care but not with care? - Treat them first

Step 2 is to know how to help a head or neck injury. The biggest thing with head or neck injuries is to try not to move the injured person. If the area is safe, you should leave them where they are and wait for help to arrive. You should make sure their head is stabilized to avoid further injury to the neck.

Step 3 is to learn how to make splints out of everyday objects. The key to a splint is to immobilize whatever was likely broken. You should use something stiff and straight. In the woods, sticks may be a good choice. At home you could use a stiff ruler, kitchen utensils, or basically anything you can tie on to keep it from bending and furthering the injury.
